In honor of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the year 2024 has been declared the “Year of Legal Enlightenment” in the country (Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 22, 2024, No. AP-533). This significant event will contribute to the comprehensive participation of civil society in legislative activities and the reduction of levels of legal violations.

The renewed focus on enhancing legal education is driven by the fact that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has previously taken benevolent measures in this direction, adopted and implemented state programs and strategies. Alongside strengthening legal knowledge, specific institutions such as the Human Rights Ombudsman have been established within the country’s legal system to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, creating conditions for the effective operation of legal aid centers.

During the Year of Legal Enlightenment, employees of the State institution “Legal Aid Center” are contributing to raising legal awareness among the population by disseminating legal information.

This initiative not only commemorates an important milestone for Tajikistan but also aims to build a more just and legal state where the rights and obligations of citizens are protected and respected.
